JEFF THOMSON NAMED CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Thomson went 2-0 on the week, pitching 9.2 innings and posting an ERA of 0.93. Against Indiana-Purdue on Saturday, Thomson tossed 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win in the Huskies' 9-6 triumph. He picked up his second victory of the week in the Huskies' 3-2 win against Bowling Green, allowing only one run and four hits in eight innings of work.

The Grande Point, Manitoba native has seen time as both a pitcher and an outfielder for the Huskies. Thomson had a strong debut for the Huskies two seasons ago, pitching seven innings and allowing just four hits and two runs against Mount St. Mary's, but he ended his season early due to arm surgery. Now fully healthy, he looks to have a prominent role on the Husky pitching staff this season.
