39 Home Games on Tap for the Blaze…
The Langley Blaze baseball team has released its 2012 schedule. The Blaze open their 110 game 2012 campaign in February as they prepare for their annual 10 day Arizona Spring Training tour which kicks off with the Jack Howell Baseball Classic (March 14th - 17th) in Tucson. The Junior College tournament is sandwiched between 11 games that will see the Blaze play MLB rookie teams at their training camp sites in Mesa, Peoria, Goodyear, Surprise and Maryvale concluding with an exhibition game against an elite prospect team from the Dominican Prospect League.
Upon returning from Arizona the Blaze travel for scheduled tournaments in Kamloops (March 29-April 1st) for the ‘Best of the West’ where they defend last year’s title; Bellingham for the ‘Bellingham Invitational’ (June 23rd – 25th); Los Angeles for the ‘Wally Kincaid Tournament’ (July 1st – 9th); and an exhibition series planned for Tacoma and Seattle’s University of Washington June 8th through the 10th. The exhibition schedule also sees the Blaze interlocking with several U.S. teams from Skagit, Post 7 (Bellingham) and Mt Vernon for individual home and away series on free days within the BCPBL regular season.
The Blaze home opener of their BCPBL 46 game schedule takes place on April 7th with a doubleheader against North Shore and concludes on Saturday July 21st when Abbotsford visits McLeod Park for an afternoon doubleheader. Playoffs take place on Saturday/Sunday July 28-29 followed by the Provincials where the Blaze defend their 2011 BCPBL title.
