Bauer tosses a no-no at the Tritons

Jon Bauer didn’t allow a hit (7IP 0H, 7K 4BB) and RBI triples from Greg Rodgers (2H 2RBI) and Preston Kokotailo (1H 1R 1RBI) plated 3 runs in a 4-0 shutout win over the Tritons in Tuesday night action. The win moves the young Blaze to a 3-0 start on the season as they travel to Kelowna this weekend to take on the A’s in a 4 game series beginning with a Saturday doubleheader.
Home Opener Sweep
Hot start to season for Blaze / League Home Opener (Langley Times)
Sat April 7 vs North Shore @ McLeod 12 & 3pm
Game 1: The Blaze grabbed a 1-0 win in game 1 of the home opener doubleheader. The Blazed used a 4th inning dropped 3rd strike error to get Bill Germaine on board and then singles by Mason Cratty and Josh Wray (RBI) drove him home for the only run of the game. Marc Andre Habeck went the distance for the Blaze, striking out 3 while giving up 5 hits. The Blaze were limited to 3 hits by North Shore pitcher Kyle Olver who struck out 7 Blaze hitters.
Game 2: Blaze sweep the doubleheader as Nick Rutckyj’s 3rd hit of the game scored Michael Dagg, who walked to open the inning, for his 7th inning walk-off RBI single. Rutckyj accounted for both RBI today as his solo HR in the 3rd inning staked the Blaze to an early 1-0 lead. Pitchers Geerts and Bauer held the Twins to 2 hits in the game.
2012 KR3 ‘Best of the West’ Champions
Langley Blaze fought through cold and rainy weather to win their 3rd consecutive ‘BOW’ showcase tourney defeating the strong Okotoks Dawgs 5-3 in the championship game. Catcher/OF Mitchell Robinson was named the final game MVP while Mason Cratty stepped up his weekend to claim the tournament MVP. Dominant pitching performances were turned in by Marc-Andre Habeck and Justin Geerts while solid hitting from Billy Germaine, Preston Kokotailo and Cratty led the offense.

Blaze Go Undefeated in Final 4 Tournament to Capture 2011 BCPBL Championship
The Blaze shutout #2 Coquitlam 6-0 this afternoon to capture the 2011 BCPBL Championship and complete their undefeated weekend. Tyler Barlow and Mike Krische were named co-MVPs of the tournament as Blaze pitchers Kyle Joel, Tom Robson, Devon Stewart and Karl Malecek allowed only 1 run through the weekend while tossing 2 complete game shutouts enroute to the title. Blaze Defeat #3 Mariners - Move to Sunday BCPBL Final Against Coquitlam
The #4 Blaze defeated the #3 Victoria Mariners 7-1 Saturday in the BCPBL semi-final to advance to today’s championship final against #2 Coquitlam (the winner of the #3 Victoria- #2 Coquitlam elimination game) in the double knockout BCPBL tournament.
Blaze Shutout #1 Seed Pirates 2-0 in BCPBL Final 4 Action
The #4 Blaze take on #3 Victoria in a winner’s bracket game at 1:30pm on Saturday after beating #1 Nanaimo. Nanaimo now tangles with #2 Coquitlam in a morning elimination game.

Blaze Go Down 1-0 in 12 inning Final of 2011 Bellingham Invitational
The Blaze played two games and 19 innings on Sunday yielding only one run to their opposition. The one run was, however, the difference between winning the Bellingham Invitational and finishing as the runner-up. The Blaze moved into Sunday’s championship game with a solid 3-0 shutout win in the semi-final before losing 1-0 in a marathon 12 inning battle to Bellingham Post 7 in the final of the S&S Concrete Construction Americal Legion Invitational.
